In today's context, I would consider Bitcoin, the ecosystem, and Fintech to be the fruits of capitalism, writes Mohammed Anwar Al Balushi.

My interest in capitalism was sparked by a conversation with a college student, which made me think about capitalism in general.

Capitalism is a system of economics in which entrepreneurs generate money and wealth out of thin air. In this economic game and race, each entrant must be fit to run and win if he wants to gain anything and win. A winner is one who always focuses and works to create wealth and generate income every single second. A loser is one who keeps on wishing to create that kind of wealth.

What does it take to become a capitalist? Further, I would say, “A capitalist is neither loved nor hated, but he will not be ignored”. He is part of the running economic system, and he is at liberty to do what he wants in order to become one of the world’s richest people. As far as I remember, Adam Smith stated the same in his famous book, Wealth of Nations, that a person should be able to work at his leisure.

Being a part of the capitalist system means competing in the market. What happens there? Nothing and a lot at the same time, economic war, war of ideas, war over products and services. How will different brands and products perform in the market after they have been created?

It’s true that the system provides many choices for consumers to satisfy their needs, but on the other hand, their emotions are also being manipulated by fluctuating prices and rates of commodities. Oftentimes, it seems to me that consumers are dragged by investors and economists.

Capitalists and investors are not the only ones competing in such a market; the consumers are too, due to social pressure. Once an individual purchases a new branded commodity, the next will desire the same, and so on.

Capitalism is all about the drive for the best in every single moment of time. In today’s context, I would consider Bitcoin, the ecosystem, and Fintech to be the fruits of capitalism.

In order to win in this system, you need to be alert as an investor and capitalist and stay on top of your game every day. Consider the fact that competition motivates companies to improve their product or service in order to gain a larger share of the market, increasing their profits, which often causes companies to innovate in an attempt to gain an advantage over their competition.
