MUSCAT: A medical team at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital succeeded in performing the first operation of its kind in the Sultanate of Oman.
It was the first operation using minimally invasive technology to remove rectal tumors for a patient suffering from a rectal tumor.
And Dr. Hamid bin Suleiman Al-Adawi, consultant colon surgeon at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital, stated that this technique is an integrated laparoscopic technique for rectal surgeries and may be a much cheaper alternative to the surgical robot.
