MUSCAT: A one-month-old infant has been infected with COVID-19 and is now treated at the Sultan Qaboos University Hospital (SQUH), Oman TV reported on Sunday.
Speaking in an interview Dr. Raghad Al Abdwani, Senior Consultant of Pediatric Intensive Care at SQUH said many children from one month to 16 years are admitted in the pediatric department of the hospital. “There are children infected with Covid-19 in the observation department and in the ward,” Al Abdwani said.
According to the top doctor, most of the children have chronic diseases due to COVID-19. “Most of the children in our observation department either have chronic diseases because of Covid. This causes complications in their cases,” she added.
