The index monitored several factors, including efficiency of government performance, degree of corruption, economic environment, fair distribution of resources, free flow of information, respect for the rights of others, nature of relations with neighbouring countries, and others.
The report stated that positive peace is defined as the attitudes and structures that create and support peaceful societies, and therefore it is conceptually and empirically linked to many constructive aspects of social development and can be used in multiple contexts.
The concept of positive peace is linked to strong and thriving economies, better performance on environmental measures, higher levels of well-being and happiness, stronger measures of social cohesion, greater satisfaction with living standards and more.
