MUSCAT: His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held political talks with His Excellency Dr. Faisal Miqdad, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic, during his official visit to the Syrian capital, Damascus.
During the meeting, they discussed brotherly relations between the two countries and ways to develop cooperation between them in various fields in a way that enhances common interests and achieves the aspirations of their peoples, stressing the keenness of the leaderships of the two countries to enhance and develop prospects for joint cooperation in various fields.
The two sides also exchanged views on the developments of a number of current issues of common concern, and stressed the importance of dialogue and addressing various issues through peaceful political solutions to serve the aspirations of peoples and contribute to security and stability and achieve progress and prosperity for all.

The session was attended by Dr. Bashar Al-Jaafari, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic. It was also attended by HE Mr. Turki bin Mahmoud Al Busaidi, Oman’s ambassador to the Syrian Arab Republic, and the delegation accompanying the Minister.
