Supreme Committee decision: GC clarifies on holding events in Oman

Following the decision by the Supreme Committee, the Government Commumication Centre has clarified regarding holding events in halls.

MUSCAT: The decision issued by the Supreme Committee on Wednesday does not include a ban on holding events in designated halls with a capacity of 50%, the Government Communication Centre has clarified.

In a statement issued, GC said the halls must apply all precautionary measures including having two-dose vaccination, wearing face masks, maintaining physical distance. “The Supreme Committee’s decision does not include a ban on holding events in designated halls with a capacity of 50%, with the application of all precautionary measures,” the statement said.

According to the decision by the Supreme Committee, it is prohibited to organise wedding and funeral ceremonies in mosques, halls and other public places.

The decision comes after 12 suspected cases of Omicron variant was confirmed by the Minister of Health during an interview with Oman TV.
