Royal Oman Police set to implement new Supreme Committee decisions

Starting from July 16, the new evening lockdown timings will be from 5pm to 4am until July 31. However, the full lockdown will be from July 20 to 22 which is the first three days of Eid Al Adha.

MUSCAT: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has thanked citizens and residents for their commitment to preventive measures that has helped in reducing coronavirus cases in the last few days in the country.

ROP said it is preparing to implement to implement the new evening movement ban measures from July 16 to 31 between 5pm to 4am, and the full-lockdown on the first three days of Eid Al Adha (July 20 to 22). According to ROP, checkpoints will be activated across all governorates of the Sultanate. “The Royal Oman Police confirms its readiness to implement the necessary measures for the safety of society, through the police presence in all governorates and states of the Sultanate and to implement the decisions of the Supreme Committee, in addition to its role in maintaining security and spreading peace and tranquility,” the statement said.

With the cooperation of major government institutions, ROP will open an operations center to ensure the availability basic services and to facilitate the emergency movement of people which will help during the full-lockdown period.

ROP has also informed that visitors must take vaccination prior to entering Dhofar Governorate to avoid the hassle of travel. Citizens and residents must take at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine, while international tourists including GCC citizens must take two doses to enter Dhofar.

“ROP appeals to citizens and residents to continue to abide by the directives and decisions issued by the Supreme Committee, and to cooperate with the relevant authorities during the coming period in order to achieve the public interest and to preserve the safety and health of all,” ROP added.
