MUSCAT: Ministry of Health has issued a clarification regarding the reason behind transferring patients from Al Ghubra Health Center to Al Khuwair North.

In a statement issued, MOH said the decision to close Al Ghubra Health Center was based on a study. “The Al Khuwair North Centre can accommodate patients in large numbers and through which social distancing can be maintained, in addition to the availability of several clinics to provide all services,” MOH explained.

“After the outbreak of the pandemic, many challenges emerged, including the need to provide health services outside health centers, such as vaccination centers, field hospitals, government hospitals, and examination centers at the airport. For these reasons, health services have been integrated at all wilayats. Reducing services in some health centers is a temporary solution and the decision to close the Al Ghubra Health Center was based on a study,” MOH added.

Oman on Tuesday registered 37 deaths and 982 new infections.
