MUSCAT: The first phase of the electronic platform that support the mandatory health insurance system (Dhamani) will be launched in September, the Capital Market Authority (CMA) said.
According to CMA, insurance and health care service providers, and IT firms will be trained about the platform.
The widely discussed Dhamani will cover private sector employees and their dependents by mandatory health insurance. Tourists and visitors will also be brought under the purview of the scheme. The platform will link regulators and supervisors including the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Labour, Royal Oman Police, insurance and health services providers to exchange data and information related to health insurance service.
