MUSCAT: The travel suspension for passengers from India is still in effect and there are no immediate plans for the authorities to revoke the decision, The Arabian Stories (TAS) has learnt.
Speaking exclusively to TAS, a senior official at Civil Aviation Authority said there are no immediate plans to lift the travel ban. In April, due to rise in coronavirus cases, the Supreme Committee imposed an indefinite ban for passengers coming from India. “With the current situation, it is difficult to lift the travel ban on passengers coming from India. The Supreme Committee will take a decision based on studies and cases,” the official said.
However, Omani citizens, diplomats, health workers and their families are excluded from the travel ban. The travel suspension has left thousands of expatriates stranded in India for the last two months.
