Oman to renovate ancient city of Qalhat

The total cost of the renovation project is more than OMR 300,000

MUSCAT:
Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has signed an agreement with the Omani Liquefied Natural Gas Company (Oman LNG) to renovate the ancient city of Qalhat in the Wilayat of Sur. 

The first phase will consist of establishing management and conservation at the site, pathways for visitors, signboards, viewing platforms and other basic facilities. The cost of the project is OMR 3,11,067. 

The archaeological site of Qalhat is one of the most important archaeological sites that was included in the World Heritage List in 2017.
