MUSCAT: Night lockdown helps in reducing the number of coronavirus cases in the country, according to the Minister of Health.

Addressing the Supreme Committee press conference on Thursday, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al Saidi gave the example of a similar night closure in Dhofar Governorate when the cases surged during Ramadan. “Partial lockdown is feasible. During the month of Ramadan, when the cases were very high in Dhofar, we decided to close it in the evening and within two weeks the cases decreased,” the Minister said.

The Supreme Committee has imposed a night lockdown for an indefinite period across the country between 8pm to 4am in the wake of rising coronavirus cases in Oman.
