COVID-19 vaccination may become mandatory in Oman, says official

Dr. Saif Al Abri of Ministry of Health says vaccines may become mandatory to enter institutions and commercial centres in Oman.

MUSCAT: Taking COVID-19 vaccines may become mandatory for entering Oman’s government, and educational institutions and even commercial centres in the future, a top Ministry of Health official said on Thursday.

Dr. Saif Al-Abri, Director General of Diseases Surveillance and Control at MOH said: “Receiving the vaccine may become a condition in the coming period for entering government and
educational institutions and commercial centers.”

Earlier, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al Saidi, Minister of Health said Oman will receive more than 3 million vaccines by end of September.
