MUSCAT : HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al-Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, yesterday issued a decision forming the main committee of a first-of-kind “Governorates Marathon” (district marathon) covering all parts of the Sultanate.
The issuance of this decision comes within the context of HH Sayyid Theyazin’s attention and keenness to encourage society to practice various types of sports and espouse them as a healthy lifestyle. A statement issued by the Ministry yesterday observes that “Collective sports cement social ties, with professional performers engaging with members of society in a national epic of communication.”
