MUSCAT: Oman is aiming to attract over 11 million tourists including 5 million international visitors by 2040, Minister of Heritage and Tourism said on Monday.
His Excellency Salem bin Muhammad Al Mahrouqi said the aim is to make Oman one of the exceptional destinations due to its competitive advantages. He was speaking during the sidelines of VisitOman.om launch. “The VisitOman.om initiative is an ambitious promotional plan that aims to make Oman one of the exceptional destinations due to its competitive advantages. The link between travel and tourism institutions in the Sultanate and consumers,” Al Mahrouqi said.
“The VisitOman.om platform, in cooperation with our partners, will be a vital factor in enhancing the Sultanate’s vision of raising the rate of local and international investments in the tourism sector in Oman, with a view to attracting 11.7 million tourists by 2040, including 5 million international tourists,” he added.
