Oman congratulates UAE on its election to UN Security Council

UAE, along with Albania, Brazil, Ghana and Gabon were on Friday elected to serve on the UN Security Council for two-year terms.

MUSCAT: Oman expressed their sincere congratulations to the UAE on its election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council during the period from 2022 to 2023.

UAE, along with Albania, Brazil, Ghana and Gabon were on Friday elected to serve on the UN Security Council for two-year terms.

In a statement issued, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: “Oman expresses its support for the UAE government in its duties towards international peace and security, and at the same time serving the interests of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Arab and Islamic issues.”

The 2022-2023 term will be the UAE’s second stint on the council after serving from 1986-1987.
