MUSCAT: Royal Oman Police on Tuesday arrested a person allegedly involved in a hit-and-run incident in North Al Batinah Governorate.
In a statement issued, ROP said an expatriate was killed after he was hit by a vehicle. The accused left the scene of the accident without stopping the vehicle. “The North Al Batinah Governorate Police Command arrested a person in the vicinity of Al-Khaboura Police Station on charges of running over an expatriate, which led to his death and fleeing from the scene of the accident. The case is under legal proceedings,” ROP said.
This is the second incident in two days. On Sunday, motorist was arrested after a man was killed in a hit-and-run incident in Muscat.
ROP said the driver failed to stop after hitting the cyclist, causing his death.
