MUSCAT: Oman will receive more than a million doses COVID-19 vaccine in June, a top Ministry of Health office has confirmed on Tuesday.
Speaking in an interview with Oman TV, Bader Al-Rawahi, Director of the Department of Infectious Diseases Control at MOH said the Sultanate will receive 200,000 doses of vaccine every week.
“The Ministry seeks to cover all the population with the vaccine from over the age of 12 and above. We are hoping to cover 70% of the population and it will be implemented in stages according to the vaccine supplies in accordance with the national strategy for immunization against Covid 19 disease developed by the ministry,” Al Rawahi said.

“Health workers in the private sector who did not receive the vaccine previously, in addition to basic service providers and employees of the military and civil authorities will get the vaccination next week,” he informed.
For the community groups, Al Rawahi said the categories will be expanded to include adults from 45 years of age and over will be vaccinated in June
