Significant drop in vehicle fire incidents in Oman

A total of 606 vehicle fire incidents were reported from different parts of the country in 2020.

MUSCAT: The incidents of vehicle fires in the Sultanate dropped significantly during 2020.

According to figures released by the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority, a total of 606 cases were reported compared to 769 accidents in 2019. In 2018, a total of 837 cases of vehicles fires were reported from different parts of the country.

“Vehicle fires see significant rise during summer leading to human and property losses. This can be avoided through attentive care to maintain the vehicle and replace damaged parts with new and high-quality ones”, CDAA said.
