MUSCAT: HBL has appointed Ghulam Al Balushi as Country Manager for its Oman operations.
According to HBL, the announcement is in line with the Bank’s strategy to empower local talent to lead the next stage of the journey for the development of its franchise in Oman. Ghulam Al Balushi succeeds Adnan Haroon who has decided to pursue opportunities outside HBL.
“Ghulam has been with the HBL for the last 5 years with lay position being Acting Country Manager and Head of Retail Banking. Mr.Al Balushi is a seasoned professional banker with over 27 years of experience with various leadership and management roles in the areas of Corporate Banking, SME, Wealth Management and Retail Banking. He holds MBA from University of Bedfordshire (UK) , Cefa from Institute of Financial Studies (UK) , Banking Diploma from the College of Banking and Financial Studies and attended various executive education and leadership programmes,” the statement from the bank said.
