MUSCAT: Royal Hospital continues to operate outpatients clinics, operations, oncology treatments, catheters and others at a rate of 90 percent in April, despite severe pressure on intensive care beds, a top official at Ministry of Health said on Wednesday.
Dr. Muhanna bin Nasser Al Muslehi, Assistant Director General of the Royal Hospital, said: “In April, the total number of visits to the hospital to outpatient clinics was 13,343, and in a single day clinic unit had 1308 visits, and in the virtual clinics, 5,555 visits were made, while the number of operations reached 1,309,” he said.
Al Muslehi informed that the number of patients who received medical care in the oncology department, inpatients and outpatient clinics reached 2,028 patients, and in the department of hematology and pediatric oncology reached 513 patients, while the number in the radiation treatment department reached 1445 patients.
