MUSCAT: Half of all government employees will return to their offices, starting Sunday, May 16, the Supreme Committee said on Thursday, as the country gradually eases its coronavirus restrictions.
Earlier all government employees were working remotely in the wake of rising coronavirus cases in the country. According to the committee, the remaining 50 per cent of employees will work remotely.
In a statement issued, the committee said: “The committee decided to resume work with a decision to reduce the number of employees who are required to attend the workplace in the units of the state’s administrative apparatus and other public legal persons to 50% of the total number of employees, provided that employees who do not attend the workplace perform the work assigned remotely.”
