MUSCAT: Applications for granting government lands must be submitted electronically and the system will sort the requests based on priorities and conditions, according to a top Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning official.
Speaking in an interview with Arabic Radio Al Shabiba, His Excellency Eng. Hamad Al-Nazwani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, said: “There will be no wasta (connection or influence). All applications will be sorted electronically, and the electronic system will sort the requests and priorities as well,” he said.
According to Al Nazwani, a team has been formed to sort applications automatically. “An information technology team has been formed to prepare this program or electronic system, and the applications will be sorted automatically, such as the unified acceptance system,” he added.

His statement comes after the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning issued the terms and conditions for granting government lands.
