COVID-19: Oman extends travel suspension from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh

The decision comes in the wake of rising coronavirus cases in the three countries.

MUSCAT: Oman has extended the travel ban on passengers coming from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh until further notice, the Supreme Committee said on Tuesday.

The decision comes in the wake of rising coronavirus cases in the three countries. On Tuesday, India reported more than 357,000 cases and 3,499 deaths. The Supreme Committee had earlier suspended travel from India, Bangladesh and Pakistan on April 24. Meanwhile, the committee on Monday suspended passengers coming from Egypt and Philippines for an indefinite period. The decision comes into effect from May 7. Earlier the committee had suspended travel from Sudan, Lebanon, South Africa, Brazil, Nigeria, Tanzania, Ghana, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, and the United Kingdom.
