MUSCAT: With Oman imposing an indefinite suspension on travel from India since April 24 in the wake of rising coronavirus cases, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued a clarification regarding flights that are still arriving in the Sultanate despite the ban.
The CAA also issued a clarification about the flights that arrived in Salalah Airport on Thursday, April 19. CAA said currently due to the ban “only limited flights” operate between Oman and India to facilitate the return of Omani citizens, in addition “to shipping the necessary supplies to the Sultanate and transporting Indian citizens who wish to return to their country.”
“As these flights are subject to health requirements before travel and upon arrival,” the statement from CAA said.

Regarding the Air India Express flight that arrived at Salalah airport on Thursday afternoon, CAA said the airline arrived from Kochi with only three passengers on board who are “medical staff excepted to come from India. The flight took-off in one hour after carrying 100 Indian passengers to Kochi,” CAA added.
