MUSCAT : Over 90 per cent of Omani families own a home, according to Minister of Housing and Urban Planning.
Addressing the media for the first time on Monday, His Excellency Dr. Khalfan bin Saeed Al Shuaili said 60 per cent of housing requests are from women. “There are 447,612 registerer applicants for housing requests,” he added.
“91% of Omani families own a home in the country,” he informed.

“In 2019, the number of requests that go to the minister reached 50,000, at a rate of 150 requests per day, and the minister’s role is not to work at the executive level, now we have reduced that to 10 requests per day,” he added.
