MUSCAT : Ministry of Labour has restricted some driving professions to Omanis.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Ministry said driving vehicles to transport fuel, agricultural materials and foodstuffs will be restricted to Omanis, starting from July.
However, the Ministry said “it is permissible to authorize the recruitment of one expatriate worker to transport agricultural and foodstuffs as a distributor of goods for only small and medium enterprises owned by Omani employers.”

“The Omani employers must be full-time managing the company and must be registered with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority, and the insured with the General Authority for Social Insurance, provided that the vehicle is commercial and registered in the name of the institution,” the statement added.
