MUSCAT : The air-bubble agreement between Oman and India will continue as long as regular flight operations are restored between the two countries, a top official informed The Arabian Stories.

In the wake of coronavirus pandemic, regular flight operations are suspended and passengers are being transported between two countries through the air-bubble agreement. Only national airlines Oman Air, SalamAir, Air India and Air India Express are allowed to operate during the term. “The air-bubble agreement will remain in place till normal flight operations are restored between the two countries,” the official said.

As per the agreement, 6,000 seats are allowed on either side. Due to limited seats, airfares have skyrocketed in the last two months. “A one-way ticket on a budget airline from Muscat to Kochi cost OMR 150 or even more these days,” a travel agent said.
