MUSCAT: Parents have the right to decide whether to send their child to school or not, according to a top Ministry of Education official.

Speaking at the Supreme Committee press conference on Thursday, Dr. Abdullah Ambusaidy, Undersecretary of Ministry of Education said: “Parents have the right to decide whether they want to send their child to school or not,” he said. The Supreme Committee has allowed schools to reopen with blended education system.

“The gradual return of students to their schools was based on many justifications, the most important of which are the positive results in implementing the health protocol in schools and increasing the empowerment of students in the first cycle of basic skills in reading, writing, numeracy and teaching the new curricula,” he added.
