MUSCAT: Oman on Thursday relaxed the age restrictions to enter mosques in the wake of coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking to reporters at the Supreme Committee press conference, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al Saidi, Minister of Health said “age requirement to enter mosques is no longer required.”
“We have discussed it with the Minister of Religious and Endowment Affairs. There is no age limit to enter mosques however the mosques have to take necessary precautions to protect the worshippers,” he added.

Last month, more than 700 mosques in Oman, which had been temporarily closed during the pandemic, were reopened to worshippers, with certain rules in place.
Their reopening had been sanctioned by the Supreme Committee to deal with COVID-19, which has stipulated that only mosques that could accommodate 400 worshippers can reopen to the public.
