Oman-India Friendship Association will enhance people to people ties, says Ambassador

MUSCAT: The newly formed Oman-India Friendship Association (OIFA) will further enhance “business to-business and people to people ties,” according to the Indian Ambassador.

Speaking exclusively to The Arabian Stories, His Excellency Munu Mahawar reaffirmed India’s commitment to work closely with the Government and people of Oman.

“We welcome the formation of Oman-India Friendship Association (OIFA), as it will further enhance Business-to-Business and People-to-People ties,” the Ambassador said.

Early this month, Oman’s Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Al Busaidi issued a decision to establish OIFA. The aim of the association to provide a platform that promotes friendship, understanding and matters of mutual interest between Oman and India business and social communities in the Sultanate.
 
“During the recent virtual meeting between Foreign Ministers of both the countries, External Affairs Minister of India, Dr. S. Jaishankar also welcomed the establishment of OIFA and thanked H.E. Sayyid Badr, Foreign Minister of Oman, for his support to the initiative.  Dr. Jashankar stated, “The matters of cooperation can never have too many channels”, Mahawar added.
