MUSCAT: The Oman-India air bubble agreement has been extended to December 27, a top official informed The Arabian Stories (TAS).
The agreement which was supposed to end on November 30 has been extended due to the demand for travel. “The agreement (air bubble) has been extended now to December 27,” a senior official from Indian Embassy said on Monday.
With the air bubble agreement in place, passengers from both the countries can fly smoothly to each other’s territories amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

However, as reported by TAS early this month, the capacity of seats in the agreement has been reduced to 5,000 per week from the earlier 10,000 per week. Only national airlines Oman Air, Salam Air and Air India are allowed to operate during the air bubble agreement.
“The extension of air bubble agreement is a great relief especially for those expats who are wishing to leave the country without the need to pay fines,” a social worker in Muscat said.
