MUSCAT : Travellers who are already in Oman on a 14-day quarantine period can do a PCR test if they have completed seven days and can end their home isolation if the test result is negative, a top health official informed.
Dr. Saif Al Abri, Director General of Disease Surveillance and Control at Ministry of Health said travellers who have completed 7-days of quarantine can conduct a Covid-19 test to check their status.
Al Abri’s reaction comes after the Supreme Committee on Sunday reduced the 14-day quarantine to seven for passengers arriving to the country from across the borders.

“Anyone who has completed 7 days can do a PCR test from tomorrow (Monday) and if it is negative, he can end his quarantine. He can remove his bracelet and register in a health institution,” Al Abri said in an interview with Oman TV.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Committee has announced the updated PCR procedures for travellers. Passengers must produce a PCR negative certificate which should be obtained 96 hours prior to arriving in the country. “While they also must take a PCR test upon arriving in the country. After the end of seven days of quarantine, passengers must also do another Covid-19 test on the eighth day,” the statement from the Supreme Committee said.
