Expat faces deportation from Oman after jail term for violating Supreme Committee decisions

MUSCAT: An expat has been sentenced to one month in prison and faces deportation after he violated the Supreme Committee decisions, the Public Prosecution said on Thursday.

According to the Public Prosecution, a court of first instance in Dhofar Governorate sentenced the expat to prison for selling foodstuff from his home during the night movement ban. “He will be deported from the country after he completes his jail term,” the Public Prosecution added.

Earlier on Thursday, names and photos of seven expats were issued after they violated the Covid-19 rules.
