Ministry forms team to study night movement ban in Oman

MUSCAT: In the wake of rising coronavirus cases, the Ministry of Health has formed a team to monitor and follow-up health indicators for partial or complete night lockdown.

In a ministerial decision (155/2020) issued by His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al Saidi, Minister of Health, a working group headed by Dr. Saif Al Abri, Director General of Disease Surveillance and Control has been formed.

According to sources, the Supreme Committee will review the report from the working team from MOH to take a constructive decision.

The Supreme Committee has already imposed a night movement ban until October 24 from 8pm to 5am following a surge in the Covid-19 cases in the country. On Sunday, Oman registered 1,657 cases and 30 deaths, which took the total count to 109,953.
