Nearly 4,000 health workers infected with COVID-19 in Oman

MUSCAT : Nearly 4,000 workers from health sector in Oman have tested positive for coronavirus since the beginning of the outbreak, Minister of Health said.

Speaking at the press conference on Thursday, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al Saidi said 3,914 workers from health sector have been infected with the virus of which 577 are doctors, while 1,831 are nurses. “The remaining 1,506 are from the other groups,” Al Saidi informed.

According to the Minister, 51% of infections are through community transmission. Oman’s total COVID-19 cases touched 108,296 including 1,071 deaths.
