MUSCAT: Contracts of Omani employees working in private sector companies must be mandatorily registered online, the Ministry of Labour said on Saturday.

In a statement issued, the Ministry said all new recruits should register their work contract details on the government website.

The terms of the contract include salary and bonuses which has to be agreed by the employer and employee without the interference of the ministry. “After registration, a notification will be sent to the candidate to accept or reject the contract,” the statement said.

According to the Ministry, the parties should commit themselves to the minimum wage that has been stipulated in the Omani Labour Law.

“The Ministry of Labour is working to review legislation, regulatory decisions and procedures related to organising the labour market and improving its conditions which will contribute to strengthening the support of the national economy,” Ministry added.
