MUSCAT: Hunting gazelles in Oman is a serious crime and anyone caught doing the act will be imprisoned for a period of six months and a fine of OMR 1,000, according to the Office for Conservation of Environment (OCE) at the Royal Court.

The decision comes after a criminal court in Muscat issued a ruling convicting two defendants of the felony murder of a gazelle and punished them with six months imprisonment and a fine of OMR1,000 for each.
