MUSCAT: Oman Air has announced “leave without pay” programme for some of its pilots, cabin crews and engineering staff, as the airline strives to manage the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, an internal circular said.
According to the circular, the leave without pay will extend for six months for pilots, cabin crews, engineering and maintenance division’s technical staff effective from September 1.
“Airlines around the world, including Oman Air, are implementing cost-cutting measures to ensure that they survive and are able to avoid further staff redundancies,” the circular said.
