MUSCAT: As part of easing the travel procedures, Indian expats who are planning to return home under the Vande Bharat Mission from Oman can now book tickets directly with the airline soon after they have registered online with the Indian Embassy.

In a statement issued by the Indian Embassy said once the registration is done through the online form, passengers can directly contact Air India offices in Muscat on a first-come, first-served basis.

Through the registration form which is available on www.indemb-oman.gov.in, Indians wishing to travel can select their preferred destination and date.

“The passengers, after registering on the online form, may also approach Air India offices in Ruwi and Wattaya (National Travels, General Sales Agent of Air India) directly to book tickets on first come first serve basis,” Embassy said in a statement.

However, priority will be given to medical emergency cases, pregnant women, workers in distress, senior citizens as well as to other Indian nationals who are stranded in difficult situations.

Earlier, stranded passengers used to register online and wait for weeks for a confirmation call from Air India.

India has announced additional 23 repatriation flights from Oman until August 31.
