MUSCAT: Only 30 percent of workers at government institutions will be allowed to be in office from Monday, July 13, 2020 to help combat the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, The Arabian Stories (TAS) has learnt.

According to a new ministerial decision, all government institutions will have to reduce their staff strength in workplaces until further notice and must permit employees whose nature of work requires the presence in office.

It is worth noting that in March the Supreme Committee had earlier issued a decision to reduce the staff in government offices to 30 percent, however, this decision was revoked by end of May and had asked 50 percent of government employees to return to work from May 31.

Oman on Sunday confirmed 1318 new coronavirus cases of which 1,009 are citizens. The total infections in the country has touched 56,015.
