MUSCAT: As a part of helping the community, The Arabian Stories (TAS) has so far helped 20 stranded Indian passengers with free repatriation flight tickets.
“Under the Covid-19 relief programme ‘Kindness for humankind’, we had announced 50 free flight tickets to Indians stranded in Oman and wishing to return home. We have so far given 20 flight tickets. These passengers were picked based on their concerns and we have given the most deserving ones,” said Nishad Padiyarath, Executive Director of TAS.
According to Nishad, TAS had invited applications from the most deserving members of the community and a committee has been setup to shortlist the passengers based on certain criteria. “The response was overwhelming. We are managing to choose the passengers so the most deserving ones get the chance to return home. We will be offering the rest of the flight tickets to the deserving ones in the coming days too,” he added.

India has so far repatriated more than 25,000 stranded passengers in the last two months.
