MUSCAT: The validity of visit and express visas of those stranded in Oman can be extended online from Wednesday, July 1, according to Royal Oman Police.

Hundreds of people are stranded in the country due to the closure of airports following coronavirus outbreak. The Royal Oman Police had earlier extended the validity of visit and express visas to June 30.

“Visit and express visa holders who are currently in the country can seek an extension by applying through ROP’s website. They have to pay the normal extension fees,” said an ROP official on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, ROP’s service centres that includes residence, passport, civil status and traffic will reopen from Wednesday after it was closed for nearly three months. “Residence, employment visa renewal and traffic related services can be done from the centre. We request everyone to adhere to health measures issued while visiting the ROP service centres,” he added.
