MUSCAT: HSBC Oman on Monday extended the tenure of Andrew Long as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) until the newly appointed head Melika Betley is able to join.

On May 6, HSBC in a disclosure to Muscat Securities Market announced the appointment of long serving CEO Long as the new senior advisor to the board after the bank announced the appointment of Betley as CEO.

However, in a statement issued to MSM on Monday, HSBC said “in light of the travel restrictions, the Board has decided to extend Andrew Long’s tenure as CEO, until Betley is able to join HSBC Bank Oman, subject to regulatory approval.”
