MUSCAT: Oman has so far conducted over 100,000 COVID-19 tests, according to the Minister of Health.
Speaking in an interview with Oman TV, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al Saidi said the total coronavirus testing has reached over 100,000 on Sunday. He also said the number of recoveries now stands at 2,682. “Today alone we did 3,171 tests,” he said.
According to the minister the cases increased during the second-half of Ramadan and during the Eid period after many people violated the social distancing measures. “People still continue to gather and this is a serious concern. The numbers increased because of this. The only way we can prevent the infection is to adhere to the social distancing measures,” Al Saidi added.
