MUSCAT: Oman will see a significant rise in the number of coronavirus cases (Covid-19) in the coming days, Dr. Ahmed Al Saidi, the Minister of Health said on Saturday.
Speaking in an interview with Oman TV, Al Saidi also said 2,400 cases have recovered from the virus. “The number of cases will increase in the coming days,” he said.
Oman on Saturday reported 603 new coronavirus cases, taking the total past 10,000. Al Saidi also said that despite warnings, there were reports of people gathering during Ramadan for Tharawih prayers and group iftars.
“We urge everyone to stay at home and respect social distancing measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus,” he added.
