MUSCAT:
The Supreme Committee’s decision to end the academic year for students in both public and private schools in the country is not applicable to international schools.

Speaking to The Arabian Stories, Dr. Babysam Samuel, Chairman of Indian Schools in Oman, has confirmed that the academic year will continue for all Indian schools. “We have checked with the Ministry of Education. This (decision) is not applicable to international schools in Oman including the Indian schools,” he said on Tuesday.

Due to the closure, all Indian Schools in Oman are currently conducting online classes for students. “That will continue without any change,” he added.

On Tuesday, due to the coronavirus outbreak, the Supreme Committee directed the Ministry of Education to end the academic year for public and private schools on May 7, 2020.
