MUSCAT: In the wake of coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak, Keralities living in Oman can now get free consultation with medical experts in the State through video-conference and tele-consultation services, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said.
Norka Roots has tied up with the Indian Medical Association and QuikDr, a company providing telemedicine solutions for healthcare needs in Kerala to provide the service.
“This will help our citizens living across the globe to get access to doctors in Kerala on anything related to Covid-19,” Vijayan said.

How to get help from doctors?
Keralities living in Oman can register through the Norka website www.norkaroots.org and get Covid-19 services everyday from 2pm to 6pm in India (12.30pm to 4.30pm in the UAE).
According to a statement issued by Norka Roots said, prominent doctors of various specialties would be available to answer the queries and provide medical guidance.
“Based on the instructions from the doctors, further assistance will also be provided to the expats,” the statement added.
PM Jabir, Welfare Secretary of Indian Social Club Muscat welcomed the initiative by the Kerala government. “In this situation this is of great help. As there are restrictions in movements in place across the country, it will be difficult for Kerala expats to consult doctors here so this is the best solution,” he added.
At present, the services of doctors specialised in general medicine, general surgery, gynecology, pediatrics, orthopedics, ENT and ophthalmology are available, according to Norka.
These services will be available to five million Keralities who are staying across the globe including other GCC countries.
