MUSCAT: Those expatriates working in other governorates except Al Wusta will not be allowed to enter the Special Economic Zone (SEZAD) in Duqm from today, April 9 until further notice.
In a statement issued on Thursday, SEZAD asked companies operating in the zone not to transfer workers from other parts of Oman. “We came to know that some projects intend to transfer their workers from other governorates to Duqm due to the closure of Muscat Governorate .Therefore,SEZAD would like too bring to the attention of all companies and projects operating in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm that it is not allowed for any other expatriate workers to come to Duqm from other governorates,” the statement said.
According to SEZAD, these measures would be coordinated with the security and military authorities.

The Supreme Committee on Wednesday announced its plans to lockdown Muscat governorate for 12 days starting from April 10.
