MUSCAT: Oman is engaged in hectic efforts to evacuate its citizens stranded in India following the suspension of commercial flights around the world due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
India is currently observing a 21-day nationwide lockdown to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.
In a statement issued by the Omani embassy in New Delhi said that the Sultanate is waiting to obtain a final permit to fly out its citizens from India. “We are closely working with the Indian authorities to fly our citizens who are stranded in the country. We are close to obtaining a final permit to take them home,” the embassy said on Monday.
